Andrej Kaufmann studied classical percussion at the Hamburg University of Music. Numerous engagements with orchestras such as the Hamburg State Opera, Hamburg Symphonic, Philharmonia Hungarica, in Lübeck, Neubrandenburg and Siegen.

Soloist for diverse projects such as Ensemble Resonanz, North German Broadcasting Corporation (NDR)/the "neue Werk", NDR concert series and the NDR Choir.

Participated in CD, radio and television productions such as for the NDR, German World Service (Deutschlandfunk), ARS MUSICI and col legno.

Tours to Russia, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary and Japan.

Teacher at the University of Music, Hamburg.

Lecturer in Percussion as a Major at the International College of Music, Hamburg.

Coaching at the State Youth Orchestra, Baden-Württemberg.
